The Brickhouse Restaurant Ltd. located at 401 2nd Avenue, Fernie, BC V0B 1M0, is recruiting eight (8) full-time cook. This position is responsible to oversee kitchen operations in support of the Head Cook and must be creative and experienced culinary professionals. The cook works 35-40 hours per week and the salary offered is $20-$25 per hour. Our restaurant is open between the hours of 11:30 AM-10:00PM, 7 days a week. It’s imperative that the successful candidates have 2-3 year of experience as a cook or chef. Benefits include medical & extended health benefits, and dental care.
Prepare season and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
May set up and oversee buffets
May clean kitchen and work area
May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
May hire and train kitchen staff.
Assist chefs and waitstaff as required.
Minimum 2 to 3 years experience as a cook or chef
Completion of secondary school or equivalent
Strong communication skills with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions
